With the long history of shipwrecks on the Florida coast from the 16th century onward there has been alot of shipwreck items found on Native American sites. The Spanish even used some natives as salvage divers. Although this find is not gold or silver its a Treasure to me none the less. This is a ballast stone recovered by one of the natives and utilized as a hammer stone. It was found along with other shipwreck items and projectile points that fit the time period. The knapped stone and flakes from the same stone found close by.
