Back in the days of disposable income, and before the photography "market" caught fire, I used to search various venues for portraits of our native people. Sometimes I was very fortunate to find some good images.

I hope you all will share any of yours, that you care to.

The first may be a familiar face.

I found it difficult to photograph these photographs behind glass. If any one has any tips for minimizing the reflection, I'd be happy to learn them.

These photographs are amazing, I hope since Surfs passing they are being treated with the respect they deserve. Would make an impressive museum display.

I was wondering where surf was. What caused it? I considered him a friend and always enjoyed his knowledge.

he really loved these old prints. Surf passed away May 3, 2013. He had been ill a week or 2 and finally went to see a doctor. Never heard exactly what the illness was but cause of death was heart failure. I still miss him.

Thank you for the info. People come and go on these type of sites and you just never know sometimes where or what has happened. It saddens me to hear of it he had a lot of great knowledge to share. He will be missed, rock
