I am asking those if you that have received artifacts from Steve(Larson1951) to please post them on this thread and at this link..... http://www.treasurenet.com/forums/h...oderator-larson1951-deserves-recognition.html

The purpose of this is so Steve can catalogue what has been given. It is also a way to show your appreciation to him.... Not saying you did not do that already, according to him though there are about a dozen of you so let's see them..... I'll start it off.

This is blowing my mind. Steve has given away more then I have found. His generosity is unmatched. I give points to some of my scouts here and there and to my friends kids when they get excited over my frames. I allways tell mom or dad to make sure it stays safe too. But just the amount Steve has parted with turkey shows what kind of guy he is. Thanks Steve from all of us!

Like I said on the other thread, Steve and I have did a few trades and he sent me some awesome pieces and I returned in kind. Both of us were very pleased with what we received.

Here's some pics of what Steve sent me. Thank you very much Steve. You are a gentleman and a scholar in my book!

This is some we have traded for but no was could I match his generosity. This does "not" include my mo jo flippin stick or a shaft abrader and more scrapers and tools and pottery. Everything is in riker frames until I get the time to frame them proper. Thank you Stevie Boy for sharing the adventure and history. I am having fun with those scapulas. HH Richard

Fantastic artefacts guys. I couldn't ever match what Steve has donated to me, other than be his personal maid for a year. :laughing7: He is a kind, thoughtful, respectful man, what we ladies over here call a gentleman ( rare these days ) I thank Steve from the bottom of my big heart. BTW Steve, I don't do washing, beds or windows..lol.

Thank you man! Look at what Larson D. Stick found!

View attachment 767048

I was probing the ground and hit a solid spot. Normally a rock this big, I wouldn't have dug up. This one wasn't deep, so I scratched with my hands until I saw the poll end. It was dead vertical in the ground. Poll was less than 6 inches in the ground. Had you not sent me that stick, the axe would still be in the ground.

wow rusty nice find
looks like we really put some fierce mojo on that stick

I guess I am last. I asked Steve for some Pect Wood examples and he sent me some and then some other nice stuff to go along with it. My brother collects pottery shards and I just dont find any where I hunt at. So last yr I traded with Gator Boy for some and Steve sent me some to go with it. I gave it to my brother for Christmas and the first word was WOW. So it was a nice trade for me. I didnt take pics of the pottery, sorry. I gave him a nice frame to put all the pieces in as he wished to. The very last pic of the scraper is my favorite that I had got from Steve. Thanks, Steve and GatorBoy it was a great gift.

i think you are talking about the fishing sinkers?

Ah if that artifact was here it would be considered a bola stone. Out west there is the Waco sinker. They are 4/4 grooved. The groove is pecked vs incised like the bola stone. Those are incised lines and that is why I believe they are bola stones. Our fishnet weights are usually notched river cobble. Most of the time flat. Steve you may be wrong on that my friend. check out bola stones and you might be shocked what you see. What you have there are dead ringers against known examples.

I will try and post the photos next week when I make it back to the public library. He also sent me some Indian corn that I haven't been able to plant and hope to do so in his honor this spring. Praying for his complete recovery.

Hope to post tomorrow. Got just a little time today, but saw Steve Bauman on the Antiques Roadshow Monday night on the Bismarck, NC episode and figured it had been taped before he got sick. They had a segment about Larson guitars and I guess that's where is member name came from. I sure enjoyed that episode even tho he was on briefly and learning about the Larson guitars was great. I put him on our church prayer list last week and asked all our church family to keep Steve and his family in their prayers.
