I have 3 different artifacts that were found by my Aunts friend when they were younger he found them while digging by a river in Illinois. He kept on to them and left them with my Aunt and she has had them for years and while cleaning through old storeage things I've stumbled upon them and want to know more about what I've found. Each of them weigh a good amount of weight a couple pounds plus. Also I have the top of the other guys head as well. [Pictures are webcam quality, tried to take good angles.]

These were found in Illinois over 35+ years ago on a river bed that's about all I know. They seem to be very old and look possibly mayan from what i've looked up.

Who could dig such stuff from a river and just abandon it? The piece with the big lips, looks exactly like a magnet that a friend of mine brought back from Hawaii, as a souvenir

Wow, those are awesome finds! I would definitely try to have them looked at by an expert. Is there a museum in your area that might have someone?

wow, you might have something great here.

Take this into account:

Early Spanish explorers noted that similar statues were part of an ancestor worship cult and were housed in Funerary Temples where offerings were made to them.

These were found at Etowah Indian Mounds

You might just have one, smaller then those, and it could be very valuable.

The statues.......1st looks Asian, the other 2 look African made. Search for these on the net and see what you find. Then come back and give us a update.

Well I just spoke with my aunt for a little more information, it was dug up in middle of a dried up river or creek in Joliet Illinois. It was found underneath rocks and dirt around 7-10 feet underground. She says she doesn't know the name of the creek or river though. She said it ended up filling back up with water.
I'll look into that asian and african thing thanks for your opinions hope to find out alot more about them.

I have looked for museums in my area but haven't had any luck finding one with such items. I am in Panama City, Florida.

One thing i'd like to add that you can't really see by the pictures. The carving where the head is broken off the rock inside is sparkly.

he did not say that someone dug them up and left them laying
he just said where he thinks they were found
the bank could have eroded and exposed them 35 years ago when they were discovered......and kept
