A stone drill could have been used for drilling anything softer than itself.
Wood,shell,bone,teeth,pottery

Some "Drills" were not actually used as such. Check for polish and use wear long the tip and the sides. If it was actually used as a Drill it will show both. I have seen a lot of what people refer to as Drills over the years that show absolutely no evidence of ever being used to drill anything and I believe they were either Pins or possibly clasps used to hold Hides together.
