My expertise lies solely in copper culture, so when I stumbled onto this near a riverbed in Kentucky I knew it was something but that's about it. The piece seems to be partially worked but I'm not sure if this was to be a knife or an arrow. Not even sure of the material. Any insight you might be able to give me on this piece would be greatly appreciated.

Looks like an arrowhead to me with the tip missing. I would return to that area and look some more. If that was found there then there is likely more artifacts waiting to be found. Good luck and be safe.

but strictly speaking not an "arrowhead" ...we tend to use that term for a lot of stuff.
