Ok it's been a REALLY long winter here in Illinois. I finally got out and dug a little. Also walking the creek, I stumbled upon this.
I'm not trying to be that Hunter who posts river stones, but this sure looked strange to me.
I also dug up the flint pieces

It might be some sort of pounding tool, is it flat on one side? I would have kept it too and have one similar. The flint is pretty. All good finds in my book!

The two at the bottom of your hand look worked to me. The round stone looks natural. Perhaps others here will give you a another opinion. But, if you have two worked pieces, your looking in the right area! Good luck and be safe.

Yes the first one is a natural flint cobble. Although it is hard to see if there is any use wear on it. The Indians did use them as grinders or Manos which ever you prefer to call them. Flint cobbles usually come in that pear type of shape and round also. If its natural and not a tool some of the knappers here would like to have it. HH, rock

The tip has a little chip or wear and is just a bit polished.
Perhaps it is natural. But it just stuck out to me so I figured better safe than sorry

They are usually very smooth to the touch and a different color on the inside. I have picked them up myself in the past.

Natural or not it's still nice...and like peaches, I would have kept it to. We don't have tear drop cobbles like that here, so thanks for sharing with us "rock" admirers!
