I found this in a creek while mushroom hunting last spring. I thought is was fossils that made this rock cool but I think man altered this. To me it looks like a mask of a human and a bird. THen you have atleast 3 other markings on it that look man made to me. any help or direction would be awesome.

thank you and those are really neat. but none of those pictures have the nipple or raised piece in the middle of the circles. plus it doesn't explain the other markings. and I see a bird on the one side.

It has the 2 markings from Omar fairly close to each other with sharp edges. Then a larger circle like indention with smooth edges.

Believe me, I don't understand it all either, but I have learned that nature can make some pretty amazing objects. I also know that omars were utilized on occasion by the natives, and they have tell tale use wear showing.

I have them with the raised bumps in the center, and I have some that look like they were chipped around the edges too, and they had me pretty exited for a while. Out of the several I have, only one appears to have been used by primitive man. I do believe all of yours are natural.

Here are 3 I believe were man made, and not made on an Omar. Note the worn rim or edge on the holes? Most Omars, will show this type of wear if used.

Here are some of my Omars, the top light colored rock is not an omar though.
