Makes me wonder CK...if you ever thought of laying out "all your finds together"....and see if maybe your pieces may fit others..(like doing a jigsaw puzzle)!!HA!
Nice finds again, and your buddy 'Catcher' reminds me of my buddy 'George' the crow at the quarry. :)

old digger...."catcher" comes pretty close, maybe 3-4 ft. sometimes. He/she will either sit on branch & catch or fly out & catch...pretty awesome! I've got "catcher" squirrels to! Don't even ask how many peanuts we go through. lol

monsterrack and painter.... thank you:)

TJE....oh yah...been through that "puzzle" thing already! :-\ How cute, you've got a feathered friend....ever take a picture of "George"? Love to see it!

I like watching birds and animals when out hunting. I had a owl once that use to follow me down a small river while fishing. One day I hooked a small bass and all of a sudden that owl paid me a visit. He grabbed the fish and stared at me I let him have it after I got a close up of his claws and beak.
Nice finds as always Kat.

golden sluice....."air support"...good one! :laughing7:

rock....great story! Owls are pretty but can be dangerous if you're small, my sister almost got grabbed by a G.H.owl when she was 3....we were walking in the forest by where we lived, I was older...turned around just as the owl was coming at her head & it spooked when I waved at it, close call...don't know if it could have lifter her, but would have scratched the heck out of her little head.

TJE...yes, do try to get a picture...love crows/ravens:hello2:

Speaking about owls....here's a guy we had hanging around last year for a couple of days...... RSCN7519.JPG ...lucky to get the shot.

The other day when I was out we saw several Mountain Blue birds but they stayed just out of camera range.

Well old digger, that's quite neat! All my past years working in the bush/Rockies, in Northern Alberta/British Colombia, I've not seen one. Guess if I do ever see one...have to tell everyone..'that's a "Catcher Jay"!...right CK! haha! ;)

Late in the summer and fall they gather in larger groups as they migrate further south.

I wish we could do a bird section. My brother is a professional photographer and is doing the birds of the South East. Me? I point my phone at them as they fly by.

Maybe we need a place for pictures in the field with an occasional artifact insitu thrown in.
