Could it be just a piece of old weathered plastic?

Have you given it the tooth test yet?

It was found in Northwest Ga along creek bed - it is not plastic - very hard but doesn't feel like rock ...

See that is why I wasn't sure - it is too perfect for hole and the smooth angle side - it could just be a handle to something - it seems old though but who knows -thanks for help

I saw what looked like a seam as well but it is only on one side of the hole. Is the piece heavy? How much do you think it weights? This might sound crazy and I am only guessing but what about a broken atlatl weight? I have never seen one except pictures and none of those had an oblong hole...Just a guess.

There are actually 2 seam looking lines the lighter one is to the left of the one going down the middle into the hole. It is very lightweight which is why I was pretty sure not stone.

It might be a piece of crockery which is the 1900s area. I find many different types of it in the creeks around me here in GA.
