holy moly thanks so fricking much guys, thank fully i know my stuff when i hunt lol, that was almost not picked up till i spotted the engraving. i thought it was just a ceramic drilled something cause i never ever expected a spool. Hey Steve, the only thing that i have heard about these is that they are in a toss up with what culture, they lean fort ancient but none were found inside a village, i believe only a burial. Shane kev and i have found well into the 300 whole point range and 70% are archaic stemmed and big sandys, only 3 triangles. So hopefully i can learn and get some help on doing a a write up on this piece and the site collection, cause i think they could be older than we know

Have you been able to make out anything engraved on the spool that we can't make out from your pics? Almost looks like a cross symbol type design on the one end.

Yes definetly a iron cross type symbalic thing, I have paper here at work I can rub the lines with and get the design without hurting it.

Damn, I wish... I gotta stare at rocks for months just to find one, a field like that is worthy of a celebration
