all the knife handles that we have found have been made from a piece of rib bone
most have a wide slot made for a flaked flint blade and some have a very narrow furrow made for a metal blade

well this morning we found a handle made from a piece of elk antler
it is made to hold a faily small ovate flint or chert blade
this is a first and only antler knife handle that i know of too come from this mandan site
here it is

Nice handle wish we had them here but I believe they have all broke down due to the soil.
