Hate to break it to you, but those are NOT hammering marks.

And I would bet your point is a Knife and not a spear head.

I agree with quito; those are not battering marks, sorry to say.

A hammer. Or at least how I interpret it. Wrong? Another shot of the end:

No, sorry, that's an unmodified cobble as well. You can see that none of the stones' smooth cortex or "skin" is broken at all, to indicate usage as a hammer.

I have lived in West Texas, where there isn't any rivers. All of the finds similar have been used!!!!
