I found this point a couple of months back. It has a notch that I associate with Texas. The piece has been reworked. It has a spokeshave on one edge and a blade (I guess) on the other. I thought the corner notch was a "plow ding" when I picked it up. After washing.... I'm still not 100% sure it's not a "plow ding". However, I'm pretty sure this notch was intentional. It's odd for this notch to be found in NC. What do you guys think about this little ditty?

The last point is supposed to be an unnappable lithic.

Looks like you have had a good summer!

That's a tough call on the basal notch, and a spokeshave on an edge like that isn't to uncommon. Regardless, it looks like a nice point!

Looks like you have been holding out…nice finds for the summer…when you say the notch is associated with Texas, do you mean one of those tang knives I have seen in guides?

That's what I was trying to say. Tang knife! Thanks Joe! Couldn't call that to save my life.

All nice finds there NC. It may just be the lighting, but it looks like the basal notch on the first quartz point might have a little different patina than the rest of the point?
I really like the darker brown point shown a little further down, looks sorta like a bifuracate and fishtail hybrid, not that there such a thing. The rhyolite Morrow Mountain looking point catches my eye too, looks like it might have different patina on each side, which I think is interesting. Thanks for the show and HH.

Rock, I'm not sure what that is exactly. It looks kinda fluted but it's just poorly worked. Painter also ask about the bifurcate. I think it's larger than a Lecroy. Twitch found a Mckorkel in this field. Maybe that is what that one is Painter. Stanley points, big sandy, and lots of earlier archaic is all I find in this spot. Lots of them also. The quarts piece may actually be a plow ding. It has a fracture leading to the notch. Tang style notching is not a NC thing. I haven't hunted much this summer. I started playing drums again, and have been spending more time behind the kit than in the field. Thanks for all replies.
