Nice face pipe.
It looks English to me and probably creek stained kaolin clay.(maybe)
Those types were more of a late 1800's to early 1900's not trade items.

Here's one I found a couple years ago. I also found several Pipe Stems on this same site. This is one of the styles from Point Pleasent.
