Very nice are the incised pieces bone or clay ?


in the frame the long narrow pieces are bone

in the second image the game pieces in my hand the piece on the left is sandstone and the piece on the right is scoria

Nice stuff Larson. The top bone piece looks like a snake effigy. The piece above the fish hooks looks like an effigy also. Any insight you can give us on those two? Nice finds!!

they are paint sticks.........'warrior sticks'






On the bottom pic is that an atlatl weight?


it is a weight for fishing with a line and a bone fish hook

The bone with the holes, is that a arrow shafts or what???



hey hey monster

yup that is an arrow shaft wrench.......some had 3 or 4 holes in them.............the part of the shaft that needed straightening would be moistened and then heated....
then the shaft was immediately placed through the hole and pressure applied with the wrench and dipped in cold water to straighten
.....it seems like whenever we find one it is broke across one of the holes
