That little rounded off black piece looks well worn. What's that material on the peach colored point, if you know?

1st for me in that color but I think its a quartzite. It was hard to see hiding in red clay.

Rite in the general area where I find the most artifacts there is a depression in the top of the hill. I wonder if it is a ancient fire pit?

Do you think the pink one is rose quartz? I find pink/rose quartz mixed in with white but there's not much of it. All those are awesome finds. Wishing this dry spell would end for me and have only found a very small shard this weekend. I think the cluster fluk of trees in my prime spot has caused me some issues. We're supposed to have some severe weather beginning early a.m. with tornado watches and flash flood warnings, maybe it will move some of that stuff.

Here are a couple of pics I took Saturday when I was downstream of it. The bank on the left is where I normally go into the creek, it's about 10' down and I use tree roots for steps.

WP_20141012_001.jpg

The tree that looks like it's leaning is actually growing that way and has blocked another one that's in the water from going downstream...what a mess! WP_20141012_002.jpg

Well that is a true creek setting. The creek I hunt is about 20 ft wide almost like a shallow river. I don't think it is rose quartz. It might be a type of flint cause it doesn't feel grainy. I just have never found one in that color so Im not sure. I do find quartzite scrapers so I figured it was the same but I do find quartz. Here is one I found last yr on top of the hill. Along with the site frame

Well whatever type stone it is, it's really nice! I have one triangle point that is similar to the white one you have there. That's a really nice frame and love the striped one bottom right. The creek I hunt isn't wide except in spots and is shallow unless there's a big rain, it's just deep down the banks and some of the other ways I get in are water worn ditches down to it. Most everything I've found were in the spot in the pic and downstream where I was taking the pic from. In this area there is lots of quartz and I've found crystals and garnets in there too, sort of a "gathering" area.

Looks like you had a successful hunt! :icon_thumleft: I would say that that last piece appears to be an unfinished point that the knapper in working it hit a snag and didn't finish it. You will notice the center ridge on the one side. This would be difficult in flaking a functional point.

Almost everything found on the hill top has been scraper types. I did find a small piece of pottery last week there so it must of been a camp at one time.

Wouldn't that be nice to find a whole one. I do find a lot of hafted scrapers in that field area.
The peach colored point is a flint type kinda rare for this area.
Thanks GB

A little? We got almost 4 inches of rain this week alone. But don't you know they were going to harvest the cotton this week. Now they have to wait till it dries out. That means another week or 2 before I can hit the fields again
