This year was a pretty good year for me.I found a wide variety of artifacts.Most were surface finds some were dug a few found in a stream.I increased my pottery collection.These finds were mainly archaic found near either streams or lakes.Here's a look ....mjm IMG_20150106_142707_302.jpg

Very Nice finds! I spent a couple of Blueberry seasons in Maine but didn't have time to relic hunt.

Very nice grouping. Live in NJ, but born in Skowhegaan, ME. Have a family cabin up there. I detect in the summer....so summer can't come too soon!. Again, great finds!

Thanks I had a great year in hard stone finds.I j[ATTACH=CONFIGbelieve four gouges four or five plummets.Not such a strong point year but the ones i did find are nice.The one thing really positive was i found a few more productive spots to hit next year.Heres a better pic of that gouge Rock.....mjm

Sorry about these lousy pictures!It seems to be increasingly harder and harder to post pics from my phone.I've already reached the point that I can feel its time for an attitude adjustment or I'll be finding this phone in the spring...mjm

So were you able to determine what material the stripped Gouge is made of? We have some Banned Slate here that looks close. Some of the Slate is stronger than other types.

Thanks guys.This year did bring a little bit of everything..Rock I just today sent a picture out to an archeologist.Don't know if the picture is clear enough to I.d. the material or not.We'll find out.....mjm
