Im sure your turn will come. This time of the year is the southeast prime hunting season. Summer is the worst unless you get lucky and have a flood

Painter I have no idea. Do you think the flaking is paleo and why? It is a nice piece.

Hafting on a knife makes it not paleo or transitional ?

sorry painter,no that does not mean its not paleo,i just thought i seen some wear on it.the random flaking makes it look non paleo, but you know im no expert.seems like in tn everyone would stay at the same sites for thousands of years so the artifacts are together, young and old, add water and,big ole mix of things.

Oh ok I gotcha a better picture would be better yes they are all mixed together this piece seems to have a small stack that wasn't removed and it has what looks like a broke piece missing . Looks like it was broke then used hafted like a knife ImageUploadedByTreasureNet.com1422059142.898434.jpg ImageUploadedByTreasureNet.com1422059188.777940.jpg ImageUploadedByTreasureNet.com1422059217.029850.jpg

it could of been painter, jmo but i think they would make alot of flake knifes or uniface blades instead of ones like your are showing to cut or butcher with.this probally is not a good example but it is one im checking out that i found, but they were made for a long time so i am not saying its paelo, but i think there knives look more like this blade 001.JPG blade 002.JPG blade 003.JPG

I don't see any paleo flaking on that piece Jamey. We call them flakers here could be from any time period. Nice piece though
