Found this a few years ago in my honey hole. I completely forgot about it and found it again. Does that count as 2 finds...lol ImageUploadedByTreasureNet.com1424648061.071360.jpg ImageUploadedByTreasureNet.com1424648135.826572.jpg ImageUploadedByTreasureNet.com1424648198.955269.jpg ImageUploadedByTreasureNet.com1424648406.339280.jpg

Thanks yakker! It is crazy. I'm still trying to figure out how I could have forgotten about it. All the enthusiasm on here has really got me chomping at the bit. Now, if the snow and ice would melt I could try for some new artifacts... New to me anyway.

PaDirtDigger, I would say say keep your chin up but you'll never find any treasure like that. Lol

Almost looks like a pestle with the base. Very interesting find. Thanks for sharing. I have some new sites I am pumped about this season. Good luck!

I think you're right Tnmountains. A pestle might be closer to its original purpose. I suppose being hafted could extend their reach giving them the ability to stand over their work.

It has the look of a pestle but it isn't smoothed or polished on the working end so I am thinking on a pounder type of tool. Looks to of been shaped for something.

Good point Rock. With the abundance of oak, hickory and black walnut in the area, a pounding tool would have been essential.
