Had just enough rain to wash these few pieces out of our garden and four-wheeler trails. The first Jasper piece was the find of the day. It is fire popped and the barbs are broke off, looks corner notched like maybe a Kirk or a Decatur.also a few busted knives and scrapers, and what looks like maybe a chipped adze. Thanks for looking, H.H.

Glad you were able to get out and have a look around. Been in your creek lately?

Thanks folks! Rock, haven't had much time for the creek lately. Unfortunately the creek didn't get shaken up the way it usually does in winter, not enough quick snow melt off here in the mountains. I'll still be taking a look when I get a chance.

I like creek hunting the best. Never know what you will find. My biggest points come from the creek but also my biggest heartbreakers.

Nice finds- Also like the material. Last one looks to me like a Savannah River preform. Cool either way.

Thanks folks. It kinda does look like a preform from the one pic. Here are a few other pics, including one of the possible bit end of this thing. Thanks again for the response.

I've been hiding in the mountains of VA, thanks, seems a little thick for a preform.

Due to the material I think it couldn't be more than a large scraper. I have that type of quartzite here to. Id still like to find one though.

You can see the cortex of the quartzite pebble in the second photo. My guess would be preform for a knife or point.

Thanks for the input guys. Rock, it could be a large end-scraper. Charl, it could also be a knife preform, but its not an even bi-face, seems like the hump is intentional. Maybe they just couldn't get it to thin out properly and gave up on it. But it does look like a finished tool in hand, but I could be wrong.

We call those Humpback Scrapers here. Im sure it would of been very sharp when they made it.
