Today's finds

Finally had a chance to get out and do some fossil and arrowhead hunting. Found a couple cool rocks and these. The one looks like it may have a small flute...? NCPeaches I am in central Missouri. The creek was in Callaway county, MO. Could it be paleo?

Nice find! Tough to put a type on that one. What I see is a possible medium size articulate with possible oblique transverse, or parallel flaking at least on one side, maybe random on other side. Heavy basil flaking giving the appearance of a flute. If the base is heavily ground, or smooth, I would call it something in the Dalton family, transitional Paleo. Someone please correct me if I'm wrong.

Id say at least early archaic if not older. What a killer point find. Glad you found time to go before it washed away.
