Two days later and I'm still just as giddy as when I found this.

Monday after work I decided to take a little drive down to Massachusetts to a colonial farm site along the Connecticut River where I have had some luck with my detector. After swinging the coil for a while in a lower field and only turing up a few flat buttons, I decided to try my luck in the upper field which had recently been turned over. The soil was really dry and the dust was awful. Disgruntled, I figured I would do one more pass hoping to dig at least one good keeper for the day. I always look down when I'm detecting, so its not uncommon for me to find the occasional arrowhead or flake, but what I saw laying on the ground shocked me. Staring up from the dusty earth was the most perfect point I had ever seen. I just about through my detector and shovel in excitement. I didn't even think to take an in-situ picture, I just picked it up and kept saying "oh my god, oh my god." In my hand I held my very first Paleo point, this wonderfully fluted Clovis! The point is 4 1/8" long, 1 1/2" wide. I can't wait to get back there and search for more!

That is a stellar find, I don't know if you know how rare it is to find one in that good of shape, but the artifacts gods were looking down on you for sure. Super find, congrats on the banner, and put it in a very safe places. You may even want to think of having a cast made for displaying purpose. If it was mine that would go in the bank. Thanks for posting:notworthy::notworthy::notworthy::notworthy::notworthy::notworthy:

Wow, WOW, and WOW again, beautiful piece to say the least. I love the patina on that stone. From the photos I am guessing it is not Onondaga, but that paleo may have twice the aging on it than I am familiar with seeing on Onondaga cherts? Just think what that dusty patch of turned ground is going to look like in a few days after Joaquin passes by ! Congratulations and best wishes for further finds .

By the way, the link I left is to the ASAA, which is run by Gramly. So you can find his contact info at that link. But, if you can possibly make the meeting Saturday in Norwell, Ma., well there's a whole bunch of folks, including Gramly, who would love to see that in person!

Now those are some very convincing points my friend.
And I do believe you have found some of those elusive "Clovis" styled tools.
Now I am jealous as hell.

HAHA,,,, NICE JOB !!
