It looks like it was broken from another piece and that it does have a small amount of edge flaking all the way around. Could be from a tool that was made just for the moment to cut or scrape with. Also that small chipping could come from rolling in a creek, was it found in a creek or a field?

to small to know for sure what it is or was. But it use to be something maybe even a reduction piece. Keep looking in that area.
