I was river walking yesterday and found these two pieces. The hard-stone piece I found I brought back because in about a mile stretch I found no rocks at all. It was all sand and clay for that entire stretch. The flat piece I kept because it looks like it could possibly be pottery, but unlike most pieces I see on here, it's red and has not designs across it. Any ideas? Just rocks?

The flat piece does look like pottery, the stone I don't see any thing that say it's an artifact. Is it dished out on the flat side?

The stone is flat on both sides. I think I was grasping for straws since I was having little luck lol.

The flat stone is neat, I would keep it. It would look good in a big grinding bowl where it was or not an artifact.
