All flint chips but the one has been fashioned as a hand scraper but discarded before finished. Comes from a area/Layer of topsoil where artifacts are dated to 5000-6000 years old.

Hmmm. I see a few scrapers in there.

How can you tell they were discarded before being finished and not just damaged?

Hard to tell in the pic for me if there is any edge work on it. Sometimes they just knocked a piece off and used it for a quick tool.

And the edge work comes from re-sharpening the dull edge if they keep on using it.
