These are points 5 and 6 that I have found in the last week in the same creek! Pretty pumped!

I think the red one is an Etley. What do you think?

Nice finds! Banner worthy for sure.

I think this is the first time I've seen a banner find posted with no one commenting that they were voting banner. I know you can vote without commenting but people who comment on the find usually mention that they voted.

Wow! Thanks everyone! I don't even really know what it means when people vote banner but it sounds really cool. Where does it show that it has been voted for?

It means your find is featured on the banner at the top of the page of the website because it was deemed unique or valuable. As for how many banner votes anyone gets, that's not public knowledge, although many people who post to a thread will often mention that they voted a find for the banner.

The moderators use a number of factors to determine what makes the banner. Votes are only one part of that.

Any ideas on the big one? A friend said its Paleo but I haven't seen any other Paleo points that resemble that one.

Bob - great finds. That large one is almost certainly a Harpeth River in my opinion. You're in the northern edge of it's distribution, it looks like creek stained Ft Payne which is the right material and being beveled on all 4 sides is the clincher to me. Nice finds and congrats on the banner.

Great finds, the ones I find in California are usually broken and made of obsidian. Havent found a whole one in years! I do know a spot where I back back and camp at an old camp that has the grinding stones and I find the chippings and tons of broken ones that broke as they were making them I assume.

Nice, hunt the creek after a heavy rain and look behind deadfalls, logs, rocks, anything that interrupts the current...... I use to find a lot of whole points that way....
