Took 6 months of asking permission but finally :)

Like the title says been asking for 6 months to walk this private creek. I was going to yak yesterday but it was 24 degrees when I got up so I decided to go to the cow field instead when it warmed up. Got there and the cows were sleeping but the horses were up and the male wasnt going to let me walk actually I tried but he chased me out. Found out I can run pretty good still. So I called the owner and told him I had to leave. He said well you can always walk the creek down the hill instead. I was wishing I knew sooner cause it was already 2 pm by then. He drove me down to it and I jumped in. Water was a bit high and freezing cold as it is spring fed and its winter. I went down stream 1st to where it connects to another bigger creek found some beaver sticks and some quartz artifacts. So I turned around due to the water being to deep and walked upstream. On 1 bank I found almost all of the black flint then form there the huge heart breaker which the way it was laying I had hoped it was whole would of made my year but of course just half. The one point is a funky flint and blended rite into the graver thought it was a piece of bark. I always enjoy finding flake tools. Anyway I didnt have but 2 hours so I am going back next week to finish the walk Im sure I missed a lot. rock

Interesting pieces, the N.A.'s rode bare back you should have grabbed him and rode him around the field looking for points.

No they bite. Pony died so they got a tiny horse instead but they told me he bites to and dont try to pet it. One of the cows had a baby so I know why the bull was watching me so hard the last time I was there. On the quartz pic I forgot to say the far left one is a base of a broken point would of been a nice see thru piece. Lots to look at in that creek.

    Ya did good...

FYI...having grow up on a farm, cows are curious and will investigate all activities.

However bulls are dangerous and are not the herd protector...anyone on foot is a primary target...best advice is regardless of your running prowess you'll never get up to 40 mph.

Always avoid unfamiliar goats or rams...you run and they will score time and again...

And most of all keep your distance from geese...they are the barnyard guardians...

Horses are mellow and will avoid strangers...

I can always hope to find the other half. There is a narrow road the crosses the creek which has cobbles on both sides of it. The water actually goes over the road when its high like now so chances are it tumbled over all of those cobbles and maybe just maybe the other half will still be there. I wont hold me breath on it but you never know might get lucky seeing I didnt make it all the way up. Lots to look at thats for sure.

I was wondering on the quartz pieces with the narrow tip if you might know what they are used for as in the tool type? I find them made in the flint to Im sure they arent drills due to the quality of the material. Also if there is a name for this type of flint?
