Obsidian point from Kitsap County, WA, USA

I found this in 1968 in the back yard of our house in Port Orchard, WA. I'm a few miles from the site of: https://yukonharbor.wordpress.com/2012/05/18/the-clovis-spearhead/

I was 10 years old when I found this. My most treasured find!

COULD this be Clovis era?

Nice find and typical of the black volcanic glass obsidian of the north west. I've only found one broken blade point of that material in northern Nevada.

the point has some damage but has the Cascade look .

I love obsidian artifacts, we don't have it around here. I'm not sure what type point it is but it's a beauty!

Obsidian is always a treat to find, but seems that you rarely find a complete piece. There is no way to tell that your item was once a Clovis point. The tip kind of looks like it has been polished. You may want to let us see a photo of the opposite side, and how thick is it?

Just think of the journey it took.. carried from the east side of the Oregon Cascade mountains, ending up on the west side of Puget Sound (Port Orchard), Washington.

Not Clovis though.

I've found 2 obsidians so far on the beaches of Puget Sound, 1,000-2,000 years old.

Nice 1st find. Wish I could find mine from when I was a child. Probably in the garage some place.
