I know this is not a that great of a find but the quality of the material is very nice for my area it is red and white, I am guessing flint? Also does it look like a drill tip? image.jpg

That is some pretty material. At first glance I thought it looked like the reddish/pink quartz we find in my neck of the woods, but after enlarging the photo it does look to be something different and finer grained. What part of the country are you in? I think from what I can see that it was probably a knife or dart point rather than a drill IMO. HH

Thanks for the reply. I found this in southeast Ga, where quartz is the most common material, this is definitely not quartz but something exotic to my region.

I see some small flaking on your item, but may we see the opposite side? At first look it looks like a possible knife.

It does not appear to be a drill, and there is some minor flaking on the other side. It is hard to say if it would have been used as. It may also been broken while being worked.
