I went to a new spot this weekend, and found one whole point, and some broken ones. There were so many flakes on the ground it sounded like broken glass every time I took a step. I will definitely be going back there. Any id on the whole point? image.jpg image.jpg image.jpg image.jpeg image.jpeg

Wow, sounds like a great site, and those materials are nice as well, that big broke base looks like Carter Cave flint, very cool.

Thanks for looking. I live about 25 miles from the area carter cave flint comes from. But it is no trespassing now because so many people were stopping and taking it without permission.
I'm going back with my sifter after a good frost because those turkey mites are horrible here.

Nice finds ! The whole point would probably be considered early archaic if found in the mid-Atlantic area, and maybe a Kirk/Amos/Palmer type. Your point being from KY may not fit in with those types found in that region. There are folks on here that can give you good KY found point id's, and hopefully they will chime in with their thoughts. HH

Id call them crude knifes. Late Woodland period to Mississippian which I find mostly are known to make those types. Some are so ugly you think they are older.
