Mystery Rock

I would appreciate everyone's SWAG on this. This is a personal find in Northern Paiute country. A retired geologist/rock hound says the material is andesite....maybe. Measurements are almost 12" x7 3/4" x 4 1/2". The first seven pics are one side and the last six are the other side. Thanks everyone in advance for your opinion!!

This is JMO someone else may have seen one like this before. I call them bread stone's, used in making bread pattys but I have never seen one with tally marks. Super artifact I think at one time it was longer. Is it dished out in any area, because I see other markings on it, like that would be made by another stone.

It's not dished out like a normal platter....you might be onto something for it being used to make bread....

So i guess it couldnt of been used to make impressions on pottery then for design? I see no other use for it myself but is a cool looking artifact and a mystery for sure.

Back through the other posts, it's leaning towards a "paint palette." In one of my pics, you can see how it fits in the right hand. Someone else on here (Charl) posted a Hohokam paint palette....much nicer though. Thanks for your opinion!!

Obviously ancient Ogham writing. (just kidding) It reminds me of the notches we cut on the end boards of beading looms to keep the threads separated, but you wouldn't use stone for that.
