Well other than a few scrapers and the grinder I did a lot of walking and with no rain the dirt was like a powder. With some rain maybe Thursday they say I might find a nice keeper after that but until that time of rain comes I might as well not go back just cant see them is all. I didnt do terrible but found some real sickening pieces that I wish had been whole. The black piece in my hand is a reworked tip to a scraper tool and is whole 2nd dary flaking all around. N.GA. finds, rock

Ive been working like a mad man the past couple of months and am off 2 days this week. Going out again today but might not find nothing in this spot I have permission to go to. I will look anyway sometimes I find some good sticks to carve on. So hopefully it wont be a total loss if I dont find a nice rock. HH,everybody and if nothing else enjoy the weather!!!!

Nice! Looks like your large stone could be a hammer-stone or mano, hard to tell. Also looks like you found a broken point (center, fifth photo). Good job! :icon_thumleft:

I want to get out again badly. It's back to bow season here again for a week or so so maybe I won't have to worry about someone sneaking on to my uncle's property for a deer this year

Got some good keepers! The Good news is the spot your at is still producing so it's only a matter of time before you snag a couple monsters!!

I think the grinders here were used for both grinding and hammers for crushing then grinding the damage on the side could be from crushing or it also makes for a nice grip on the stone for the hand. I have to only guess they were grinding corn or nuts. Thanks

Dry is the word here. I went to a creek that was 6ft deep 6 months ago and the other day it looked like a gravel road with not even a drop of water in it. No wonder I never find a point in that creek cause if it did that back then they wouldnt of stayed there for long with no water to drink.

Love the material in your area. The black teardrop shaped one in pic 3 is interesting. All in all a nice haul for a day out and hope you find more today!

I went but not even a flake was found. I did find 7 sticks worth bringing home. The owner always has a big wood pile form trimming his trees and he lets me take whatever I want. Just take my hand saw and cut what I like. Its oak and they make nice walking sticks with a red stain.

Ive gotten a frame or 2 from those fields just needs some rain on it to flatten the dirt so they will pop. No rain yet in the forecast

Yes its a rare material for our area. I saw it and drooled over it for at least a min before I picked it up. Of course is what I said when I brushed the dirt off.

That would be good go ahead and start dancing rain any day would be great. If you remember last year I wasnt happy cause it was raining every day for the whole winter. Now it looks to be the other way around. Cant be a perfect world can it? I bet if the water is low where you are its fossil time.

That light one in the middle of your hand is indeed a heart breaker. It even has the pattern of a black arrowhead within itself !
