I'm in Georgia on private land...I'm wondering if I found a campsite....slot of quartz points have been found there so far, also in the hole I found those few points I also found a bunch of pieces of quartz. ....

It looks like pottery because of the temper. It may have been something other than a bowl.

There is no telling what this could be, maybe a smoothing stone or maybe a gastrolith but definitely something to hang on to. I find them in my creek, not sure if they were used by the Native Americans or not, it's hard to tell.

Is it real slick when it's wet? Might be soapstone. They used soapstone a lot for bowls, ornaments, etc.

i have found probably 1000 sherds of pottery in this same little spot...fixing to post a pic of the amount of pottery sherds wife and i found in two days....all of it was in the same little area
