Hey was looking at all of the SC paleo points from the Univ of Tenn database and started looking through my broken stuff and found this what do you guys think?
Is it a paleo base it sure looks like it has the right flaking for thinning it (small flutes).
We do find Van Lots and serrated kirks 8 to 9500bp on our site so I think we are digging deep enough.
I have never found one so you will not offend me with your opinion it was in my broke case!!

Looks like he broke it while making it. It's not ground and just doesn't look like it's finished.

Yea that is what I was thinking too. A rookie clovis maker. But the good news is maybe we might find some that are completed.
Just need to keep digging!

It's my understanding that fluting is the final step in the production of Clovis tools so I doubt it was broke while making it. I think what you're seeing are thinning/reduction flakes.
