I found this hammered perforated Silver Coin on a site in Marion County Indiana May 28 1990 in the Maywood Quadrangle T14N R3E Section 9, on the south side of Little Buck Creek.
The same day I found a red slate bannerstone preform, where the drilling had barely been started on one end and a very nice complete greenstone celt.
In the Midwest women's dresses were sometimes adorned with the hammered coins. Further west in the plains hair pipe breast ornaments and other clothing sometimes had these.
In the 1990's this field was planted turnips, which they would plant and harvest three times a season. This made for good hunting all summer. A housing development was built on this site about 2005.
