Got to dig for three days just got back and wanted to share. I found a Pickwick with my nephew about 50 ft from the swamp.
Wet clay does not go through a sifter well.
Anyway enjoy.
Have video of the pick up but don't know how to upload.
I don't have a youtube account.

Yes Sir and this was found right down the road from you.
There were tons of roots that is the hardest dig site I have ever done.
I can't believe it but we did not even hear it hit the shovel. I'm sure you can recall how chert sounds when it hits the shovel blade.
We were banging the roots lucky we did not break it in half.

I wonder what are the signs to choose spot for such kind of hunting?

Most of what I am looking for is a buff overlooking a river smaller one in my case that does not flood.
It would be just as if you were looking for a nice flat place to camp for 2 weeks with no supplies.

More points and knife

We think we have a small pickwick and a pickwick tip which we matched to the big one at the start of the post.
A nice broken knife and a morrow mountain base.
Thanks for looking.

Great finds- that point is really awesome...

How does one get invited to such a dig? ;)

No telling what else is waiting to be uncovered on that site. Love the picture of the swamp in the background.

Thanks crj1968
I would love the help but that would mean you have to give up the points you find. And I could not do that to anyone.
It is just me and my nephew and we keep everything together. I have daughters that are not interested so my nephew will keep all of this stuff when I pass.
We lease the land for hunting and digging rights so this dig was on 300 acres we pay 5k a year for. That is one expensive point!!
