Need help with identification

New to collecting but finding lots. Any idea what these pieces are?

Will do...I'll try and get some pictures this afternoon or tomorrow. I'm fairly certain the tomahawk is legit - sharpened on 4 edges, notched across the back. The stone is unlike any around here though. It's a black/gray color, smooth, while everything else around here is sandstone, limestone and quartz. I have a wet weather streambed 8 - 10 feet deep and 15 feet wide that runs the length of my property and am hoping to find more. They found over a million pieces and a village when widening the road about a mile away a few years back. I have caves in the hillside and the stream is running at flood levels now - searching again when the water recedes - where is the best place to look?

Nothing in picture says artifact, post pictures of edges and back.

One last post. I just had many of my "rocks" confirmed as actually being artifacts. Seems that the first Indians were here around 10,000 years ago and other similar stone/rock tools have been found. I know my pictures were not very good that I posted, but didn't expect such quick dismissal of them either. Regardless, took them to the university archeology dept and met with a local professor others. Very happy to hear that I should not put these in a "rock garden" after all...

Don't take them to a Professor. Take them to an artifact show. That is where you will get true answers to your rocks. They are not artifacts no matter what he said. Older does not mean cruder. Check out 12,000 year old Clovis Points. They are a work of art.

I'm going to show these though I am sure it will not change your mind. These are true ancient Stone Tools including Axes and Celts. Your stones show zero evidence of being altered by used by man.

Really nice examples grim but like you said probably not going to change his mind for none are so blind as those who will not see but this thread does have some entertainement value for me at least we geot to see some of your supurb collection of true hardstone artifacts

Its a piece of shale or limestone imo would of crumbled with 1 blow. I wish you were closer to me cause I would walk your creek and show you what to look for. Not all creeks have artifacts in them. My best creek I find lots of things in and no lie there is another creek less than .25 of a mile away where I have permission also that I cant find hardly a thing.

Loos like he has taken his rocks and went home. Sad actually that a college professor would say anything he posted was an artifact. Goes to show just how clueless some of the Academia actually are.
