2 Micro Points

I went to a field the other day due to all of the rain we got which is around 6 inches in 4 days. One section I went to cause I have found around 3 tiny points in the past and found the black one rite away. It was a while since I had found anything and started to give up while walking back I took a different route and then found the gray one. It would take a long time to fill a frame with these but a point is a point, rock

I don't know about Rock, but I pick up every little tiny flake I see. When I picked up the little arrowhead I thought it was just another flake, was surprised and happy to see it was a point.

Good finds rock what type would you say the one with concave base is?

I actually forgot my glasses so every thing I saw I picked it up and was rubbing them to feel for breaks. If no breaks I threw it in the pouch. Im tall so looking down was a challenge for me and it kept raining on and off so it made the flint stand out. These are small Triangles I have found a few each year here and there. Triangles are tough to get a good I.D. but most I would say Hamiltons but the curved one is different so it might be a later point probably Mississippian.

Some points are made on a flake but most points will be worked on both sides as in the pics I provided you can enlarge them if you click 2 times to get a real good look.

Yes they are the real deal now I dont know how big the arrow shaft would of been. These date 1500-1000 B.P. believe it or not.

I was wondering as to what type of flaking tool they could of used to be able to work all sides on something so small?

I was told by a knapping friend that they possibly used something like a beaver tooth for very fine flaking. I have no idea, but they were incredibly skilled craftsmen/artists! A wonderful mystery just like a lot of their history.
