✅ SOLVED Natrive American?

I found this bracelet or bangle 6'' down in the dirt mixed in with rocks at an old park last week, hoping someone here might be able to help with dating it.

It's marked 'Sterling', with the letter 'A'.

I have also been informed this may be Native American in origin, can any of the experts confirm or dispel this theory for me?

I'd say it is, it's pretty modern.

I agree. I'd say the only way it's Native American related would be from being bought on a Reservation or tourist trap.

You're right, a trade item wouldn't be marked sterling. However a "sterling" mark in comparison with a "925" is usually considered an "older" mark. Not that the bangle looks older than 50-60 years or so though. With American silver the "sterling" mark was commonly used from the Victorian era and still used today, though it isn't as common a mark as 925 nowadays. Where a "sterling" mark is common nowadays is with Native American jewelers. Hence the reason it was mentioned to begin with. Todays Native American silversmith is not yesterdays typical traditionalist whem it comes to design. The 925 mark was relatively rare pre WW2, though it was used. More so in other countries like Mexico and Peru just to name a couple. I like replies that tell people what it definitely isn't yet they offer nothing else but a feeble attempt at humor.
