My first question is what type might it fall under? My second question is what kind of material? It is very asymmetrical with a expanding stem that is ground and has clipped wings. From research the only type I can find that is close is a Susquehanna Broad? Going by the books it is not a type that is found around this area, but the way the natives migrated I assume it could be a possibility. The material is something I never seen around here unless it was something that was heat treated? Have been stumped on this one for a good while. I would very much appreciate any help. yep, agate...i find those a lot out here. you can call it chalcedony or even carnelian with those orange highlights. But what ever you call it "agate" is just as good as any. nice point made on a flake.

In hand will tell you if its quartz, quartzite or chalcedony by the touch. If its smooth it would be quartz. If it has a grainy feel I would call it a quartzite heat treated. If its got a slick feel to it when dry then its chalcedony and again probably heat treated to bring the colors out. I have found some quartz with yellow and red in it but they were scrapers. On the type all I can say is knife but sure is a pretty one.
