Hammerstone I think

Well my plan got foiled by a late high tide. I was able to walk a creek that drains into the Chesapeake. All of the rock bars looked so promising but only managed to find what I think is a hammerstone. Can see layers removed and some flat edges on the side. Thoughts? Normally don’t like to post these. I definitely see some work from hammering imo. Found in a creek about 2 miles from numerous camp sites. I have found a few points in this creek. About 3 miles from the Chesapeake. When fields plowed between creek and bay has yielded countless points.

Please share your opinions thanks in advance. Happy hunting!

I can't help you with a confirmation... but I just wanted to say that I mainly hunt rockbars / rock beaches. I see so many possible hammerstones, grinding stones, and other tools, but usually I don't trust anything from rocky areas unless it's blatantly obvious. Those things tumble around and bang into each other, it's tough to positively ID anything (at least for me.) Of course, it's different if found in the middle of a field or something.

Yep agreed but this one caught my eye with the straight edges and chopper like component and cracking of layers from maybe hammering. It’s in my I think it could be something pile. Wish there was a dimple but no such luck.

Sorry, but I just see a rock with a few facets that could have come naturally.

It surely doesn't resemble any hammer stone I've ever seen..
