Saved some local artifacts from being sold elsewhere.

My nephews girlfriend told me her father had found a lot of artifacts but I presumed that his finds were not as extensive as she spoke. I was wrong he had found a dozen and a half grooved axes and a dozen and a half Celts not to mention some very nice flint.

Thanks to everybody for the congratulations I'm kind of excited local pieces always have a special place.
I'll try to answer the questions that were made.
All but one of the points pictured were found by the person I mentioned. The exception is the Hardin long and thin, fractured and reworked it was purchased by his son from the finder on the tater Creek site in Fulton county. Everything in this guys collection was found by himself except for his father's collection much of which came from Kentucky "hornstone" for the most part and a few pieces he bought at auctions. All of his own finds came from Fulton County Illinois many of them came from his own property I half to 3/4 of a mile west of Dickson mounds museum on a bluff. He once plowed his bluff Hayfield and did not plant it for two years only so he could hunt artifacts. Many of his pieces came from his own property however he also hunted several other places in the county.
Am I going to try to get the rest of them? I'd like to have all of them but his collection is large I've already got most of the best pieces there are few more that I would like to have and will probably pursue. He once found three Celts the same day I wish I could say as much. Some hunt all their life and find no Celts.
All of his stuff is going to auction in the next few months because he wants to purchase some land interesting enough he's willing to give up everything he found because he can plow and hunt another day

I assume your referring to this one... I'm not so sure that it's a Hardin rather than a heavily resharpened Scottsbluff, due to the width of the stem and the not so pronounced barbs.
Regardless, I think that you may be right that it's made of Attica chert, however there's no "Indiana green" in it. If it's Attica chert it is the the gray variation that contains no inclusions of green glauconite in it.

I looked it over with a 45x Loupe and the were definitely no green inclusions in it.
