I'm sure it must be the same for flaked adzes and ground hardstone adzes, namely, different sizes for different woodworking jobs. I have gouges that might be called miniature, and all different sizes of both the adze and gouge form. I do have one flaked adze, but for sure the ground hardstone forms of these tools are more common here then the flaked version of those same tools. And obviously, as woodworking tools, they were used for jobs other then hollowing out and shaping dugout canoes. Obviously woodworking projects must have been important whatever forests were part of the environment, and all kinds of things made out of wood....
