I found this round stone in an area with other Indian artifacts. It seems to almost have a ring around the middle. Is this more likely a grinding or gaming stone?

If it has a ring around the middle it might be a deburring stone used in manufacturing. If so it is not an artifact. From the pics though it does look like a gameball. Hopefully some more advanced members will chime in and give you some more info. If a game ball sweet find.

Its not necessarily a ring, not sure how to describe it. It is like an indentation or a "dent". It almost feels at home in the hand when you hold it a certain way. It is hard to get a good picture of, sorry.

Hard to say by the pics maybe try taking them outside in the daylight I dont see any use wear on it so could be a natural concentration.

highly unlikely to be a river cobble due to the almost perfect shape, I'm inclined to say game ball, do you know if it's limestone or not?

Let us know what the results are on it. I have seen 1 round ball like it before and its hard to believe but a guy I know was walking his property and he found a stone bowl and a round ball inside of it. I figured it was a grinding ball.
