WOW! Nice stuff.

Can't beat that South West pottery!!

That point with the offset ears reminds me of our buffalo gap point.

The pottery is beautiful, the pipe is really cool too, I wonder if the trade tokens could've been game pieces like we have here made from pottery and love the points, what stone type is the red one, it's beautiful.

Wow! That's cool! Just when I think I know a lot about trade tokens, something new to me comes up! That is really neat! (Yet really frustrating as a token collector, because that has to be rare enough that I doubt I could gather something like that for my collection lol!)

I am unfamiliar with western pottery but is that type they consider a polychrome finish? I think that is the word. Beautiful finds.

Polychrome has some type of red or orange. I'll take some pictures of it and some other kinds as well.

I would actually agree with you that they look like game pieces if they hadn't been identified by several archaeologists as trade tokens (not mine in particular but what has been found around in general). I'm not sure what the rock is in that broken point but in my experience in this area it was probably just what was picked up off the ground.

Please do and maybe start a new thread. I have some framed and studied the different areas it came from but not living out West and seeing it all the time the info did not stick!

Trade tokens are really cool, I hope to find some one day but I think they may be more prevalent in the west or at least they are nicer colors. Your finds are awesome!

Awesome finds dump_digger. I look forward to seeing more of your collection. I love the southwest stuff and have a great frame of New Mexico pieces as well as some from Arizona.
