Though it might be a grinding stone because of this picture

It has simillar curves like the one in the image
Hope you confirm it

If I saw a hint of wear or polish in the concave area I would say it was a maybe from a pic.

All I am looking at it from is my I phone, I could easily be mistaken.

Maybe someone with a bigger screen will be more help.

There’s usually a few that are eager to help or give an opinion.

Are there peck marks visible on it. I don't see them, but that doesn't mean they cant be there. Photos are not great for determining authenticity.

in the cupped area, are there any smooth areas from possible use?

Context of the find is important. Where was this found? A field, a creak bed? Give us more information on how and where found.

simply asking "Could this be a grinding stone ?" is not giving enough information to make an informed decision.

From what I can tell, the surface from where there would be contact with another rock is too concave. The inside center is more recessed than the outer edge. The worked surface should be evenly flat on the complete surface to be functional.

It was found on a road with rocks not on a riverbed

I agree with old digger, the area where contact would occur is too concave. Although I have found a few relics on old roads and farm lanes, I think the cupping could have been caused some other way than from native american usage.

Here are a couple of no brainers that I have.

The first one still has red pigment evident. The second, a very high degree of polish and likely a modified Omar.

I believe your stone does look very much like the example you are comparing it to. But I believe the example is natural as well. The bottom of the example looks like a piece of a Metate but the grinder isnt. Grinders come in all shapes but mostly flat.
