i found this in a dirt patch where a hay bail had been sitting. at first i thought it was a partial tool but after wiping off the dirt a saw that it was nearly complete. the only part that doesn't come to an edge is the spot where the opposite ear broke off. i haven't picked up anything like it and didn't come up with a very good match in my arrowhead book so here i am to pick your brains. anybody have an id? That is what you call a well used and broken point. More or less a heartbreaker.

I'm looking for a type so i can get an date range, ive found very old tools potentially 8 - 10000 years and tons of flakes there and I'm trying to get an idea of the age. i don't think this one is that old but i wont know without an id

Looks like it is a beveled point, look at Bolen Bevel, Taylor and Big Sandy and compare to yours You can see them in the point I. D. on the web if you don't have a id book.

Hard to ever say for sure. Well worn down. They must have really liked the material to keep sharpening it down. Nice workmanship that guy had.
