Is this a Native American artifact?

I live in the Sierra Nevada foothills of Northern California and I found this rock when digging up some soil in front of my house to plant some flowers my partner got. I find all sorts of rounded pebbles within the soil of my property, but nothing like this!

Interesting find!!!

But knowing you find lots of spherical stones there, I suspect it’s another natural piece.

I don’t really find spherical stones like this, more like tiny rounded pebbles (or bigger rocks that aren’t significantly rounded). This was instantly noticeable as being unique and looking nothing like the other natural rocks in the yard. Now that doesn’t necessarily mean anything and it very well could just be a unique natural occurring stone. But when researching possibilities, it seemed possible that it could be a stone used in flint knapping.

I’m no expert in any way and obviously have a treasure hunter’s bias in wanting it to be more special than just a rock. So I appreciate your input, thank you.
