My illness of picking up rocks started in the early 1970s when I was a kid visiting grandma's farm in Georgia. Only when visiting grandma was I allowed to roam with my bb gun, something I looked forward to every summer. That and grandma's homemade peanut brittle! One day, while walking through a peanut field, I spotted a pretty blood red rock. This was my first Native American Indian artifact. Unfortunately I will have to post a picture of that point at a later date as I'm unable to locate the key to the case it's locked in. Instead, I'll throw on some pics of the kind of stuff I was finding in the fields around grandma's house.

This is but a small sample of the rocks I picked up as a kid. The longest point measures 3 1/8th inches.

This is one of two dismal swamp points I found, the better one being locked in the aforementioned case.

Broken but oh so purdy!

Love the story and shared memories! Nice points, they look like Georgia points I've found. What state was grandma's farm in?

Her place was in Cochran Georgia, on the limestone creek.

Good stuff that I can relate to. Thanks for sharing them, and the memories of your grandmother, with us.
